For the 5th and 6th chapters of the Outsiders, I think the word survival is suitable. The reason I think this is because after they killed the Soc, they were fugitives looking for a place to hide. They soon found a church in Windrixville and they had to hide there so no one could find them. While they were hiding, they had to find ways to survive in the church. So again, survival is what I think Chapters 5 and 6 are all about.
Well like the detail in your writing and I used survival in mine as well because the chap. is about them alone trying to take care of themselves and survive on their own
