Power and Relationships

How is power shown in relationships?

First of all, power is a great and powerful thing to have. It might not only be physical power and strength, but also emotional and mental strength. In relationships, you have powers to make that relationship go really well, or you can just let your relationships die. Relationships can include parents, relatives, siblings, friends, and even teachers. Power is shown in relationships because you have the ability to do anything you want in that relationship. You can invalidate, compliment, say or do anything to the people in your relationships. And that is considered showing your power. But it depends on you to use your power in relationships wisely, because they can come back and haunt you. Using your powers unwisely can possibly make you miserable for the rest of your life. So power is a very important thing when dealing with relationships.

How can power change relationships between people?

I am going to use money as an example of power for this question. Let’s just say that “Bob” is has a good relationship and friendship going on with his neighbor. Then the neighbor marries a movie star that’s incredibly wealthy. Since his neighbor has the power of wealth, “Bob” might start getting suspicious, jealous, and they might end up not being good friends anymore. So my example of “Bob” shows that any kind of power can change anyone’s views on relationships.
How can power change people?

There are many things that are included in power. Power can be money, government, your parents, anything that you consider to have strength. For now, I’m going to use the example of parents as power. My parents and I have built up a very strong relationship. But I know that in some families, parents can be really irresponsible, and that can cause the children to act irresponsibly too. Since parents have power and responsibility, they influence how their children act.
